
Fanzineist Vienna Art Book & Zine Fair is an annual independent publisher event that takes place in Vienna, Austria. It is focused on showcasing self-published publications and independent works in the fields of art, design, literature, culture and more. The fair provides a platform for artists, writers, and publishers, galleries, institutions and bookshops: to present and sell their works to a wider audience, as well as to network and connect with others in the scene.
This year’s edition will host 185 physical and 21 online exhibitors from over 40 countries.

The fair also offers a diverse public program, featuring talks, presentations, concerts, screenings, and workshops. Across the three days, the program includes a wide range of workshops such as Shifting Pages –
Collective Book Experiment by Chloé Thomas, Press Play: LEGO Printmaking Workshop by peachfuzzines, Mood Hood Workshop ~ Touch, Feel, Make by eo studiio, and In Zines We Trust – Zine Workshop by Deniz Beser. These sessions invite visitors to actively engage with the world of independent publishing and explore experimental, collective, and hands-on creative techniques.
The talk and presentation program brings together international voices and practices, including Fortner Anderson on Artist Publications: from Mimeograph to E-book, WIRWIR Publishing, Stars & Scars: lessons learned from crowdfunding by Causa Creation, The Transformation of a Book into an Exhibition (+entia Exhibition-Book Series), and Macro & micro-perspective of emerging artist/creator communities in China by Champochic, alongside additional presentations and screenings exploring contemporary publishing cultures.
The musical program features performances and DJ sets by c8400, Ironica Los Culos, Ojos Indios, Rumbia, Funkberater, Balkan Express, Miss Clit, Kmanxak, Winamp Power, Arda Yıldız, BRUTTA BOTTA, AkonSchiele, and others, moving across funk, cumbia, Balkan influences, psychedelic sounds, afrobeat, rap, and hybrid dancefloor selections.
The Fanzineist Vienna International Mail Art Book & Zine Exhibition brings together nearly 400 submissions (around 1,300 works) from 50 countries, showcasing a wide spectrum of independent publishing, from handmade zines to experimental artist books.
Video screenings and online exhibitions will showcase works from international zinesters across platforms like fanzineist.com, YouTube, and Instagram.
