LUSTR is a festival of contemporary original illustration in Prague and the largest illustration exhibition in the Czech Republic. LUSTR isn’t just pictures on the walls – it is diverse installations by more than 100 selected artists, as well as workshops, talks/lectures, educational activities, music and drinks. The festival is a unique chance for the artists to meet each other, and share their experiences and skills in a fun environment.

For many, it can be refreshing to discover that contemporary illustration isn’t just pictures in books. Thanks to new means in both the digital and traditional “paper” domains, the authors invite the audience to look deeper into their imagination.
LUSTR’s further program contains artist’s talks, workshops and master classes led by both Czech and foreign guests of the festival.

The main part of the festival exhibition program is a free showcase of new illustrators and comic creators. It is open only to those who were not involved at LUSTR yet. The show is aimed to present fresh work made during the last year.

So what has LUSTR prepared for you in the 2025 edition?

❤️‍🔥 The Main Exhibition will explore the theme of tenderness—and all the ways it can be expressed, visually or through storytelling.

🔮 What would LUSTR be without its Showcase Exhibition? This year, it features the work of over 50 illustrators, comic artists, and collectives from around the world!

🌸 Dive into the ephemeral, lifelong work of the beloved Czech illustrator Daisy Mrázková, celebrated in a dedicated exhibition.

🌍 And finally, a full Saloon of Regional Illustration—but the selected country will remain a secret… for now.
